In 2018, Bill launched the Green Bag Food Project in Ridgefield, gathering food with the help of family and friends to support families facing food insecurity. What started with just 290 pounds of food has now grown to monthly donations exceeding 7,273 pounds in just six years! Organizations like the Ridgefield Resource Center have come to rely on the Green Bag Project to provide food for their students and families. This success is a testament to Bill’s tireless efforts in organizing, communicating, and coordinating volunteers.

Deputy Amanda Nohrenberg currently works as an Enforcement Deputy in the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. On top of her daily duties, she serves as Hostage Negotiator on the Clark County Crisis Negotiator Team and spends time with the Police Activity League Patrol of Clark County. Amanda sponsors and volunteers monthly in a 2nd grade class at Silver Star Elementary School. She assists the Sheriff’s Office Outreach coordinator and works with preschoolers teaching safety. She is an active Explorer Advisor Assistant and teaches classes to youth interested in Law Enforcement. These students compete at the state level and have won multiple awards.

Since 2010, volunteers at the Churches in Partnership Community Garden, located at the 78th Street Heritage Farm, have worked tirelessly to provide healthy food to families served by the Clark County Food Bank (CCFB). Over the past fifteen years, this community-driven garden has produced an impressive 1,003,712 pounds of fresh vegetables, playing a vital role in alleviating food insecurity for families as they work toward reestablishing their independence. All produce is delivered to the CCFB free of charge, made possible by the dedicated and hardworking volunteers who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

Christina is a wonderful example of someone who grew up in our Clark County, La Center, WA community who has given back extensively through her military service. In the US Navy, she was trained as a heavy equipment operator but changed to the recruiting team so she could return to Clark County. In her role as an Onboarder, she supported new recruits from when they enlisted to the time they went to basic training. She was the coach, teacher, counselor, mentor and more for these recruits, mostly high school students. She also worked extensively with them and their families on what to expect while in basic training and Navy life. Additionally, she counseled recent veterans to help them understand the benefits of re-enlisting. In her personal work, Christina was a pioneer for women’s wrestling in Washington winning state championship titles in 2007 & 2008. She is now a wrestling coach for the La Center high school and middle school teams. She commits time in the evenings and weekends for tournaments and extra training/practice preparation. Whether its “boots on the street” or in a behind the scenes capacity, Christina is a proven leader in our community.

Charlie has distinguished herself as one of Cascadia Tech’s brightest and most driven students. Her passion for the Aviation & Aerospace Industry is reflected in her commitment to excellence. Academically, she excels as a member of the National Honor Society and a competitor in the Math Olympiad & Knowledge Bowl. She is also actively involved in Robotics and Women in Aviation. Charlie has earned recognition in high school sports and gives back to her community by tutoring math students at her local church and supporting events for the Cascadia Tech Foundation. An advocate for her peers, Charlie is always looking for ways to uplift others. Her leadership and selflessness inspire those around her.
