March 2024 will mark the inaugural gathering of our Greater Clark County Service Awards Breakfast. This event honors local Clark County residents who have made a significant difference in our community.

Nominees represent fire and police departments, nonprofits, medical facilities, schools, and military personnel. Know someone deserving of recognition in Clark County? You can find the nomination form here.

Attendees will be provided a delicious breakfast while they hear the incredible stories of our honorees. This is an important opportunity for us to celebrate how these individual contributions have made our community a better place to live.

Tickets will be $100 of which $35.00 is attributed to the cost of the meal, the remainder of the ticket price and all other event proceeds provide the following: scholarships, international youth exchange, food and housing programs and other community needs through the Greater Clark County Rotary Foundation. Award Guidelines & Requirements

  • Eligibility: All Champion nominees must work or reside in Clark County, though their noteworthy acts may have occurred elsewhere.
  • Commitment to Community: Champions must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the community for more than one year or have made a significant contribution in the year 2023.
  • Multiple Awards: It is possible for multiple Champions to be awarded in a single category for the same act of distinction.
  • Selection Process: Our Selection Committee will choose the 2023 Champions based on merit, their availability for filming and award acceptance, and their adherence to our fundamental principles.
  • Category Flexibility: Champion Nominees may meet the criteria for more than one category, and the Selection Committee may reassign them to a different category during deliberation.

Award Categories

  1. Business & Civic Champion: Recognizes businesses or organizations that have made substantial contributions to the community and fostered positive impacts.
  2. First Responder Champion: Honors professionals or volunteers serving as law enforcement officials, firefighters, or first responders. This award celebrates acts of courage and selflessness in responding to emergencies, whether on or off duty.
  3. Education Champion: Acknowledges individuals who have actively contributed to enriching the Southwest Washington educational community. Their efforts may have helped close the achievement gap or driven improvements in teaching and learning, making them champions of education.
  4. Medical Field Champion: Pays tribute to healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, who have made exceptional contributions to the well-being of the community.
  5. Non-Profit Champion: Celebrates businesses or individuals who have made significant contributions to non-profit organizations in our community. This award recognizes those who have shown dedication, compassion, and a strong commitment to making the world a better place through their actions and talents.
  6. Military Champion: Presented to members of the armed forces, whether active or veteran, commissioned or non-commissioned, whose actions have demonstrated exceptional courage or improved the welfare of the military community. This award may be given posthumously and extended to ROTC members or civilians/organizations significantly impacting the military community.
  7. Good Samaritan Champion: The Good Samaritan Champion award is a heartfelt tribute to individuals or groups who embody the spirit of compassion, selflessness, and altruism. This category aims to recognize those exceptional souls who have consistently gone above and beyond to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Nominating a Champion

The process of nominating a champion is easy. Follow the steps outlined below and send in your nomination forms. All nominations for champion are due by January 12, 2024.
